This advanced degree is suited to nurses currently working in orthopaedic nursing who want to pursue leadership or research roles.
What will you do?
Our Master of Nursing Science (Orthopaedic Nursing) offers a comprehensive grounding in research methods and critical analysis. You will:
- build management and clinical enquiry skills
- gain hands-on experience in simulations and skills laboratories
- partner with an expert in your field of study who’ll support and encourage your academic development
- undertake 9-units of research either by dissertation or a systematic review project.
If you want to continue to further PhD study, you’ll complete 12 units of research. An exit path for the Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Orthopaedic Nursing) will be available after the first year.

*These specialisation courses are offered in EVEN years only. Students should enrol into Core Courses in ODD years and the specialisation courses in even years as instructed by the .

Selection Criteria
Higher Education Study | A completed Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent;
AND at least two years post registration nursing experience in the field of the specialisation to be undertaken; AND be registered or eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia; AND be employed at a minimum of 0.64FTE in a clinical setting. |
