Celebrating Dr. Rachelle Kernen: Awarded ARC Early Career Industry Fellowship
Dr. Rachelle Kernen, a member of ISER, has been awarded an ARC Early Career Industry Fellowship to lead a $455,109 project on underground hydrogen storage. Her research focuses on Australia’s ancient salt basins, using advanced modelling and field data to identify safe, scalable storage sites, supporting the nation’s clean energy transition through strong academic–industry collaboration.

New Electrocatalysts Herald Carbon Neutrality
ISER is proud to support the University of 911±¬ÁÏÍø Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis (CMEC). Professor Shizhang Qiao, Centre Director, and his team at CMEC, areÌýundertaking fundamental research into new types of high-performance low-cost metal-based electrocatalysts that are the key to the development of sustainable energy solutions and help to achieve carbon neutrality. They are developing catalysts which can be ‘tailored’ to different uses.

IMER celebrates ARC grant successes
The Institute for Mineral and Energy Resources (IMER) – Modern Energy Systems has secured two large ARC Linkage projects, and a Discovery Project in the most recently announced round of ARC grant funding.
